2020-The jury

The 2020 jury

George BOROWICZ

I have been in love with animated images since my earliest childhood.

At 22, I acquired my first "Zénith" reflex.

and joined the "Photographic Society of VALENCIENNES" which organized a very open international competition in which photographers from all over the world participated.

After thirty years of practicing film slideshows with 2 then 3 projectors, I was quickly conquered by the digital slideshow that I have been practicing for almost 20 years.

Since 1982, I have been a member of the ASCAP Poissy Photo Club, of which I am the Treasurer, Secretary and Trainer.

The slide show plays a central role and a competition stimulates creativity at the end of each year.

Since then, I have also moved on to video, but Audio Visual Photo Editing remains my main activity and my Passion, a Passion that I also have the chance to share with my wife.

But we also appreciate and discuss a lot about the many and diverse achievements of our slideshow colleges during events and galas offered by other clubs.

Our friends from "CLIC TRIEL" are in first place and it is with emotion and happiness that I accepted the honor of being part of the jury for this 2020 edition of La Coupe Lumière.

I wish you all beautiful and exciting achievements.

Sophie PAUGAM

I have been working in the Paris region for 25 years, but I remain Breton at heart.

In my job, I take care of organization, management of Software Testing projects and engineering teams. Am I sensitive to details and a certain perfection in AV editing by professional deformation?

I discovered AV 7 years ago. I work independently, helped by my personal network, and my Internet network: Objectif Diaporama. I am a facilitator there and I meet caring people who have brought me knowledge and provide me with a sincere and unbiased analysis. The AV festivals allowed me to meet some very nice people and to progress even further.

I have 2 interests: music (guitarist and recorder player) and photography. Meeting the 2: audiovisual. My neighbors probably prefer the slideshow! It makes less noise...

AV is for me, an amateur hobby (love to do) which has become a passion: passion to do, but just as much, passion to analyze the way of doing others, for personal pleasure, but also to learn, and be able to advise others in return.

What is a successful AV for me? A montage that opens a more artistic window than my daily life. A montage that makes me dream, travel, that moves me, that makes me think or even a montage with which I discover and learn.

Being on the jury for La Coupe Lumière will be an exciting adventure for me!

Jean-Michel Tavernier

I discovered photography around the age of 17 and since then I often have a reflex camera not far away in my luggage.

The photo, beyond its technique, is a way of keeping and enhancing the beautiful present moment. It can be beautiful simply or beautiful because of the moment or the emotion that drives us. Everyone has their own criteria!

In the 90s, I devoted myself to slide editing with a few achievements to my credit. Since the transition to digital, the possibilities of creation are greatly extended and beyond photography itself. They require more requirements in their development and in particular:

*-* A reflection on the choice of the subject, the story to tell,

    *-* Choose your scenario angle

*-* Be selective in the choice of your images,

*-* Choose music, texts, sound effects

    *-* Optionally select video sequences.

But the exercise should not stop there. It can and must become collective through its sharing. He must feed on reviews that will allow him to go a step further without denying his choice of scenario.

Discovering the digital version of the slideshow was a revelation for me. I immersed myself in it with the help of Club photo - Clic Triel.

I also, from my first year, participated in the club's gala where I finished second with a slide show on Pierre LOTI, and the following year I was ranked second with a slide show on my perception of the war. 14 –18 - Whispers of the earth.

Participating in the jury for this new edition of the 2020 Lumière Cup will give me the opportunity to immerse myself a little more in this creative environment.

It is a great chance to be able to discover new creations of various sensibilities and to give a human dimension to this exercise by meeting and sharing within a jury and with the creators.

Thank you for the work and the audacity of the authors who will participate in the Coupe Lumière 2020. Beyond this opportunity to meet and share, they thus contribute to the promotion of the discipline.
